Aloha <3
Vacationing with my sweet husband has got to be the best thing in the world. We went to Maui in September for our honeymoon and had an absolute blast! We stayed in Maui the whole 8 days and I couldn’t be happier with that decision… I mean more of a reason to go back and see all of the other islands, right?!
^Our first time in the Pacific Ocean!
We booked our trip through Costco Travels and everything went so smoothly! It was a package with our flights, hotel, and rental car. We chose to stay at the Grand Wailea resort on Maui for our whole trip and it was breathtakingly beautiful! It is home to one of the best beautiful beaches in Maui and for good reason. We didn’t pre-plan excursions or anything before we arrived and just went about our days how we wanted!
^Our hotel had a rope swing, a bunch of water slides that connected each pool, and a water elevator!
Right outside our resort at the beach, there were sea turtles almost everyday! We packed along our own snorkel gear and it was one of the coolest experiences (and free which makes it that much better ha). I would also recommend bringing a GoPro! This was our first time using ours and we got the coolest shots and videos throughout the trip with it.
^This picture Jaim took?! Ah so amazing!
We did the famous “Road to Hana” and I have to say it was absolutely terrifying. But the views made it worth all the winding roads! Our hotel had a pamphlet with a lot of the “must see” stops along the way. It definitely was helpful to have but some of our favorite stops were ones where there were just a bunch of cars pulled over so we stopped to see what was going on! I did some research online beforehand and quite a few sites mentioned downloading an app so that you know exactly when each stop is. Neither of us had service all day long so that would have been useless. My recommendation would be to buy a map from a local store (ours had some super helpful tips and reminders) and just experience the day at your own pace stopping when you decide!
^This is twin falls and was one of many waterfalls we stopped at along the way! Jaime actually jumped off of this one!
Baby and I just took pictures 🙂
^Rainbow Eucalyptus Trees – they are naturally this colorful!
^Three Bears Waterfall! Getting to swim underneath the waterfalls was such an incredible experience!
^Random waterfall because Jaime made us stop at every single one so he could swim in it ha! We were the only ones at this one!
If I had to choose the prettiest spot on the island, my vote would be Black Sand Beach. I can’t even begin to describe how incredible the views were!
^The bamboo forest was one of the most unique spots we saw! We were just surrounded by bamboo!
We of course had to go to a Luau seeing as it was our first time in Hawaii! We went to the Grand Luau at Honua’ula which was right at our resort! Jaime and I went up on stage and learned how to hula – good thing we didn’t know anybody haha. It was such a fun night and the pig in the picture above was SO so so good.
^Our rental jeep we drove for the week! We had the top of most of the time!
^Unfortunately we chose a really cloudy day to go up to the crater so we were literally stuck in a cloud but we saw an awesome rainbow!
^Our daily shave ice from Ululani’s! We even got baby a “little shaver” t-shirt and a book about shave ice.
Ha if you didn’t know, now you do. I LOVE SHAVE ICE!
Every perfect day ended with a beautiful sunset!
Until next time, Maui!
Love,
Nicole B
