A 4 month difference. The physical changes are of A 4 month difference. The physical changes are of course so rewarding, but it’s so much more than that. I’ve started my “health and fitness” journey so many times. I have countless “before” pictures but never stuck with it long enough to ever take an “after”. What’s changed is my why. I started exercising consistently earlier this year but my “why” was because I was having lower back pain. I’m 29 years old. I was 1 year postpartum after having my 3rd baby in 4 years. My why changed. I wasn’t doing this to “look good” anymore. I was doing this to get strong. For myself and for my daughters. That sounds easier said than done and I get that. I’ve been there. I wake up before 6am everyday to get my workout in before the girls get up. I found what type of exercise brings me joy. I started with @kelseywells program and a couple pairs of dumbbells. I had never lifted before but found out I truly love it. I found a friend who’s goals aligned with mine. @everydayfitwithbrit kept me consistent. Twice a week for the past 4 months all I’ve had to do is show up and she has the equipment and workout ready to go. Not only that, but she is really the first person I’ve ever heard about plant based eating from. She didn’t push me to try it or ever question my previous nutrition choices but I gained a lot of knowledge from hearing her talk about her own habits. That’s why it’s so important to surround yourself with people who have the same goals as you. I thought time and time again that I should learn to count macros and that was the only was I was going to take my journey to the next level. But the thing that held me back from that was my daughters. It’s important to me that my girls learn healthy habits and I know that counting macros works great for a lot of people, but for me, I didn’t want my little girls to see that in order to be healthy I had to track everything I ate and weigh my food before putting it on my plate. I had followed @earthyandy for a while and decided.. (continued in caption)

Week 21

November 3, 2017

I had full intentions of posting this earlier this week but that clearly did not happen ha.

Tomorrow we are 22 weeks already! But I still want to share my 21 week update!

18 weeks to go and our little nugget will be here <3

Jaime felt our little babe kick for the first time (21 weeks & 2 days)!

We were laying in bed watching netflix and baby started kicking here and there so I took Jaim’s hand and put it on my belly just incase. As soon as the kick happened I slowly turned my head to see if he felt it and he did the same thing. It was such an exciting moment that I will always remember! Honestly it makes if feel so much more real now that he is getting to experience that too!

It is still so hard to believe we are actually having a baby! I mean besides the whole like growing belly thing ha.

Nursery Update:

We got our rocker in the mail last week – talk about the biggest amazon delivery ever ha. We put it together right away that night and we absolutely love it – I’ve already taken a nap in it haha. We can both comfortably sit in it together and that makes me so so excited.

I had my first break down this week about the nursery. It’s so hard not knowing the gender and trying to prepare. I really want the nursery to be designed towards a boy or a girl but if I actually want to make this happen I would have to wait until after the baby is born. I feel so unprepared! Jaime told me we should just decorate the nursery for a girl (since that’s what I think baby is) and if we are wrong we can just return everything and repaint the room – what a sweetie. <- were not actually doing this though ha. So for now, I have ZERO ideas for the nursery – someone help!

21 Week Update

How big is baby: The size of a Pomegranate! I have to admit Jaime and I had to look this one up to actually see the size compared to a fruit we know a little better. Then I ended up buying a pomegranate so I could really compare it!

Cravings: This might be a combination of craving/it’s freezing outside but Kwik Trip has a caramel hot chocolate and it is SO good. Had it twice this weekend and will definitely be back! Also salad is really hitting the spot (just lettuce, cheese, croutons, and Italian dressing – specially olive garden ha). This one is obviously all baby because I am so not a salad girl.

Gender: We are keeping it a surprise until our little baby’s birthday! I’m pretty convinced it’s a girl though even though 95% of our friends and family say boy. Boy or girl though, I am so excited to find out!

Movement: Feeling this little babe all throughout the day now and loving every second of it! I actually caught a video of baby kicking today too!

We are loving this sweet little babe so much already.

I didn’t take an actual 21 week picture this weekend but plenty of pictures were taken at our friends wedding! ^Ah look at that bump! I’m scared for what it will look like in 18 weeks! I looked and looked (last minute of course) for a cute maternity dress to wear but no luck. Literally every wedding we go to I always end up going to Ross dress for less and finding a cute dress for so cheap. ^Hello $11 dollar dress. It wasn’t maternity but it was really stretchy so it was perfect! P.S. how beautiful is this bride!?? Love her and her now hubby <3

Love,
Nicole B
