Today I am sharing my favorite newborn baby products we have been loving for Marina! She’s 6 weeks old today! HOW?! All of these products have definitely made our transition into parenthood a little bit easier!
In no particular order, here are the products we love!
DockATot
Marina sleeps in her DockATot every single night! I will say it is on the pricier side (I mean what baby item isn’t) but in my opinion it is 100% worth the money. Marina hates being swaddled and having her sleep in the DockATot gives her an environment to sleep in that still keeps her safe and snug. I have also heard great things about it helping the transition to the crib easier since she is still sleeping in same “bed.” The only negative I have on this product is that the extra covers are expensive and it would be so nice to have a second one. Because babies spit up and when you don’t have that extra cover to put on when that happens in the middle of the night, it makes the nights a little bit harder!
Owlet Baby Monitor
I can’t express enough how much piece of mind this product gives us. The Owlet silently tracks an infant’s heart rate and oxygen while they sleep and notifies parents if something is wrong. It is basically a sock that you strap onto your baby’s foot before bed. It stays on really well even when you have an extra wiggly baby like me! You have a base station that plugs in next to your bed and when your baby’s heart rate and oxygen are at “normal” levels, it glows green. If the sock does happen to fall off or moves out of place, it turns yellow and plays a lullaby. If your baby’s levels are too high or too low, it turns red and sounds an alarm to wake you up immediately. Both of our parents always told us how they always woke up in the night to check if we were breathing and we get to sleep much more soundly knowing if anything happened, we would be woken up.
WubbaNub Pacifier
We have the elephant WubbaNub pacifier (actually we have two of them) and Marina absolutely loves it. If she is the slightest bit fussy, her Ellie (yes, we gave it a name haha) soothes her literally mid cry. The first week we tried a different pacifier and it continuously fell out of her mouth. We love the WubbaNub because the attached elephant helps keep it close enough to her mouth. I will say we still have to put it in her mouth like 15 times every night before she falls asleep though.
Rock N Play
This product we didn’t get until Marina was about 3 weeks old. I kept seeing a few other bloggers I follow rave about it and thought I would give it a try. I love that is rocks forward to back rather than side to side. The motion and shape of the product mimics us holding and bouncing her and she sleeps like a champ in it! I also set it up outside our bathroom door when I get ready for the day and she just contently watches me haha.
Gripe Water
Okay this stuff is actually magic. Marina has hiccups typically at least once a day (she always had them in my tummy too!). All we have to do is give her a couple drops of this and they are instantly gone. It amazes me every time!
Saranoni Blanket
THE BEST BLANKETS EVER. Jaime and I each have our own and Marina has 3 haha. The blankets are so incredibly soft and cozy. Marina has a lush blanket and a bamboni blanket in the receiving size and a lush blanket in the mini! We use the receiving size around the house for naps and snuggling and the mini is the perfect size for her car seat! They are pricier blankets but I can confidently say you will never own a softer blanket!
Dr. Browns Bottle Warmer
As of right now Marina always has a bottle right before bed. We got this about 2 weeks after Marina was born and it is so nice to have! We went one week without having one and it was so exhausting heating a bottle under warm water when you have a crying baby. This you just put the bottle in and press start and its perfectly warm in 5 minutes!
Wipe Warmer
When Jaime and I were making our baby registry, he laughed at me when I suggested a wipe warmer. He said our baby didn’t need warm wipes and would be fine with the cold ones. Then came Marina and she hated diaper changes. She would just cry and cry and after minutes had Jaime wrapped around her little finger. He started warming them up in his hands so they weren’t so cold and then went out that day and bought a wipe warmer because his little girl needed warm wipes for her toosh. She is MUCH happier during diaper changes having the warm wipes.
Fridababy Snot Sucker
I always thought these were the grossest things. And don’t get me wrong I still think the concept of it is gross. But it works SO well and doesn’t bother her! We have tried the little bulb sucker and it doesn’t work at all. I would highly recommend this!
Angelcare Bath Tub
Such a great little “tub” for an awesome price! It’s basically just a seat with holes in it. It fits great in both our bath tub and our sink so we have options when bathing her!
Love,
