A 4 month difference. The physical changes are of A 4 month difference. The physical changes are of course so rewarding, but it’s so much more than that. I’ve started my “health and fitness” journey so many times. I have countless “before” pictures but never stuck with it long enough to ever take an “after”. What’s changed is my why. I started exercising consistently earlier this year but my “why” was because I was having lower back pain. I’m 29 years old. I was 1 year postpartum after having my 3rd baby in 4 years. My why changed. I wasn’t doing this to “look good” anymore. I was doing this to get strong. For myself and for my daughters. That sounds easier said than done and I get that. I’ve been there. I wake up before 6am everyday to get my workout in before the girls get up. I found what type of exercise brings me joy. I started with @kelseywells program and a couple pairs of dumbbells. I had never lifted before but found out I truly love it. I found a friend who’s goals aligned with mine. @everydayfitwithbrit kept me consistent. Twice a week for the past 4 months all I’ve had to do is show up and she has the equipment and workout ready to go. Not only that, but she is really the first person I’ve ever heard about plant based eating from. She didn’t push me to try it or ever question my previous nutrition choices but I gained a lot of knowledge from hearing her talk about her own habits. That’s why it’s so important to surround yourself with people who have the same goals as you. I thought time and time again that I should learn to count macros and that was the only was I was going to take my journey to the next level. But the thing that held me back from that was my daughters. It’s important to me that my girls learn healthy habits and I know that counting macros works great for a lot of people, but for me, I didn’t want my little girls to see that in order to be healthy I had to track everything I ate and weigh my food before putting it on my plate. I had followed @earthyandy for a while and decided.. (continued in caption)

She eats a piece of seaweed daily because we looked up what mermaids eat and seaweed popped up so insisted I buy some. Halfway to Baby Girl!

August 12, 2019

These first 20 weeks flew by and I have no doubt the next 20 will be just as quick! I think it might have something to do with the little toddler I spend my days chasing around that makes the time go so fast! I love looking back on my pregnancy updates with Marina and thought it was long overdue that I share an update on my pregnancy with baby #2!

Pregnancy Q&A

What is the Gender? It’s a baby GIRL! We found out around 14 weeks so it feels like we have known forever! Now that we have gone through our first pregnancy keeping the gender a surprise and this one finding out as early as possible, I am definitely team find out! Way more fun in my opinion!

Have any Cravings? So far my biggest craving has been soup!

How is the Nursery Coming Along? We haven’t even cleaned out the spare room yet. It has definitely been on my mind to start preparing but it feels like we still have so much time! I am pretty sure I have the room designed though! <- another benefit of knowing the gender this time that I’m so excited about!

Felt Baby Kicks Yet? I felt baby girls first kicks at 19 weeks and 3 days (I felt Marina’s kicks at 19 weeks and 2 days). Jaime was actually able to feel them too!

Weight Gain? With Marina I gained 31 pounds and so far with baby girl #2 I have gained 8. At this point with Marina I had gained around 12 so this time around isn’t much different!

Favorite Baby Products? We haven’t purchased anything new for baby girl yet and plan to use a lot of the same items we did for Marina! A few of our favorites are the Dock A Tot, the Owlet Baby Monitor, Saranoni Blankets, a Wipe Warmer, and the Halo Bassinest! We do need to purchase a double stroller though. Looking for recommendations, I can’t decide if a front/back or a side by side stroller would be best! So any Moms of multiples who have one they love, please let me know! We have the BOB running stroller for at home and the Baby Jogger City Tour for on the go and really love both of these! The Baby Jogger City Tour is SO good for travel too! It folds up and can fit in the overhead bin on a plane which is amazing. D

Do you do anything to avoid Stretch Marks? I personally believe these are a genetic thing that you are either going to get or won’t get and creams, oils, and lotions aren’t the deciding factor. I got a few with Marina but they mostly faded away so I assume I will get some this time as well. That being said, I do still use this lotion and this oil and try and keep hydrated everyday! This water bottle is a MUST and is with me at all times.

Do you have a name picked out? We are down to two names! Her middle name is decided on but I am really 50/50 on her first name. We are going to be keeping her name a surprise until her birthday once we decide!

Did you have morning sickness? This pregnancy has been almost identical to mine with Marina. I had some nausea but nothing that wasn’t manageable. Whenever I was nauseous I would take one of these and it usually helped right away!
